Step 3 – Details

You may participate in one or two weeks of working on urgently needed projects on the Emmanuel College campus.  Arrival is requested to be between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM on the Sunday beginning your EC MISSION week. You will be assigned lodging so you can move in for the week. Communicate with Barry if your first work day does not start on Monday.

Orientation for all participants will be at 8:00 PM on Sunday for no more than an hour.

Emmanuel personnel will provide projects and priorities for us to work on.

We are looking for people who have various skills: painting (big need), drywall, demolition, drop ceilings, clean up, general handyman repairs, general yard work, general etc. You don’t have to be a professional contractor, but you should feel comfortable working at least one or more of the previously mentioned construction activities.  There will be a need for some workers who can clean up after other workers and also do housecleaning projects, too.

We will work and eat together during the day (minimum 7 hours each day). In the evenings, we will fellowship, take advantage of Emmanuel’s athletic facility (swimming, fitness center, gym, bowling), and/or relax. There will be times we will gather to encourage and debrief one another as the week progresses.

Lodging will be provided on campus in one of Emmanuel’s residence facilities. Meals will be provided either in the school cafeteria or other designated area.

A cost of $100 per person or $175 for married couples per week will be required. This will cover your meals and lodging. If you live in the Franklin Springs community and will not need lodging and/or meals, talk to Barry for your cost.

Contact Barry for more info on how you can participate this summer.
